Travis Horton Homes: A Foundation for Local Control

The brief

Travis Horton Homes wanted a connected home that its new owners could operate without a monthly subscription. The project needed a dependable network and a way to bring the home’s devices together under local control.

Leios designed and installed that foundation in a new home in Yukon. The work covered the network and the automation system, including water leak detection and automatic shutoff.

The approach

Home Assistant runs on a server inside the home. It connects the lighting, irrigation, and locks to one local system. Core local routines can run without an internet connection. Remote access and any optional cloud features depend on the services used.

We terminated and labeled the ethernet runs, then connected them to a central switch. Leak sensors feed the automated main water valve, with battery backup to keep it operating through a power outage. Information placards give the homeowner a reference at the equipment itself.
